Who is shopping on Goodwill? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

...seems that an awful lot of relatively useless items go for major cheddar there. What gives? What is it about a Goodwill auction that makes items go for far more than they would have on eBay? Acrolites for 2 hun, Supraphonics previously used as bowling balls for 3 hun? Are there actually more bidders on Goodwill for drums than there are on eBay? Can't be, right!?

Depends on who is bidding and on what. If you're careful and selective, there are some bargains to be had.

1964 Rogers Mardi Gras kit with Beavertails for $277.00 for instance. An Oaklawn Camco snare drum in near mint condition for $490. A drum that usually sells for $750 to $900. on ebay.

Too many great drums to list here!

i miss the old days when a drum was a drum and that was it you threw them in the back of your car and off to a gig you went i bid good will got a broken gps for 20 Violin

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I think the price's are high now because people who buy know the money they spend goes to help other poeple out that need the help.It was not always like that on priceing or bidding on things. When the goodwill auction site started i was getting so many vintage drums for cheap.Ludwig Acro's for less than 25.00 winning bid,S/L radio king set for 89.00 , M.I.J snare drums for less than 10.00 and shipping was 15.00 all the drums were so cheap back than. The shipping was cheaper too..Now the shipping is high on alot of things and drum price's are high also..I still buy some drums on the site today but not like i did before...Mikey

GW can be ridiculous, for sure. My guess is there are a lot of bids on items that are made from questionable folks, kids, who knows. If I want something enough I will pay more because its GW. I've only known about the site for about 6 months & wish I knew about it in the early days. How long's it been up anyway?
