white interior for sixties ludwigs

Does anyone know what type of paint would be best for repainting the interior of a 1960's Ludwig kit? I want to restore a club date kit but am unsure about how to go about restoring the interior. Thanks.

I have no idea but here's what some guy said on another website I ran across...

Finally, the white paint used by ludwig was standard house paint - it was a cheap way of covering ugly wood that they had to use when trying to meet demand after the beatles boom, it is breathable and shouldn't change the rate of aging.

The vintage collectors recommend not painting over any original finish. It diminishes the value of the drums. if that is not a concern go for it. Was it all oil based back in the 60's ? I'm not sure.

You want to use Benjamin Moore Regal Semi - Gloss Aqua Glo, Super White 333 02

This is the paint Jack Lawton uses to repaint interiors. The great thing about this paint is that if you paint over an ink stamp, the ink stamp will bleed right through eventually.
