Which snare ?

Sorry, I should have mentioned also that I do most of my playing on modern drums. The I own a few vintage drums (like the Leedy I mentioned, and the Dynasonic), they rarely see gigs. I'll be using that Leedy for effect on a recording soon, but I do 99% of my gigging (jazz) on a kit made by Wells in Canada. Cheers,

Max

I've got a late 70's/early 80's Supra 402 with Puresound Super 30's, coated Ambassador on top, snare side Ambassador. The drum sounds KILLER.

Thanks everybody for your answers ! :)

Even if I am a bit lost now... ;)

I have a LM400 and a LS403 and I still think I could improve their settings...

Difficult...

I have coated CS on the batter side and clear Ambassador on the snare side for both. I think the CS is good but maybe the coated Ambassador would be better...

That's the reason why I ask tips for the Acrolite I just bought it and that will arrive this week. And I don't want to make it sound like my two other Luds.

Concerning the brands, I read evrywhere that Puresound is the best, etc etc... It seems to be not so true...according to what some people write here.

I am LOST :)

Have a nice day,

P.

I'll take a stab at what may have shipped origionally on some Acrolites.

Could be a 20 strand w/ amber ends and patent # burned into the ends.

I've got these wires on a '66 Acrolite and they sound good.
