Where to order wrap

Loading...

I notice that on a google search the two places that come up first are precision and Jammin Sam, does anyone have experience with these places? is one better than the other, I wish someone made a vintage WMP wrap that has yellowed like the vintage wrap has over time, If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know I need to order some for a snare asap.

I have bought a lot of wrap from Precision. Great people to deal with.

Mostly the white pearl. Looks great, but the pearl chips are smaller than the vintage white pearl.

I have heard from several people that the Continental

pearl is very close to the Vintage.

There's has to be glued on where Jammin Sams uses the tape method.

If I'm not mistaken, both Precision and Jammin Sams get their wraps from the same place -- Delmar. I think they both lay claim to "exclusive" wraps, but for the most part their wraps are the same. Drummaker.com, too.

Precision will tell you that glueing is the ONLY way to go, Jammin Sam will tell you the tape method's the way to do it. Precision sells glue, Sam sells tape, Drummaker sells both... Six to one, half-a-dozen to another, IMO. I've dealt with 'em all.

SPECIAL NOTE: Not meant to be a Precision "plug," but they do carry the newest version of champagne sparkle, which they call "Modern Bermuda Sand." They sent me a sample about a month ago -- not quite the same, but when you need something like it, you need it. Sam told me he's not going to carry it because it's not really "vintage."

Also, Sam told me the other day that Psychedelic (sp?) Red is almost "done." What he has in stock is "it." So... anybody wanting that may need to move quickly. That's not meant as a Jammin Sam "plug" either...

Oh, BTW -- I've never talked to a person at Drummaker.com. Just ordered online...

Drumandsome has a vintage pearl. I have not seen a sample of it but it might be just what you want

Most all these guys have the "Aged WMP" not to be confused with the "Vintage WMP". Two different patterns.

I was thinking of trying continental since it has a larger chip pattern.

I f you are looking for a truly vintage W.M.P. and have some time , keep looking for the real thing. There are some old sheets out there . I have found , some -----you may have to wait a while but depending on your intent and patience, it might be worth it.

I have one sheet of 20 year old W.M.P. but I don't think it is very yellowed. You are welcome to it. p.m. me and I'll figure out the price. I can't remember.

Regarding Jammin Sam's or Precision or Drummaker----they all get their wrap from Delmar-----everybody does but there are some cheap wraps from Taiwan and those are also available but they are so thin====i think they are acetate not celluloid , they are easily distinguishable.

ST in Germany( shipping about 40.00) has Delmar but some different stuff. You have to remember that some companies order a special run from Delmar and therefore have unique wraps.

There is a seller on ebay.de ----cowbell , I am pretty sure, who had quite a few rolls of 60's wrap for sale----I think at one time he had W.M.P. . It looked pretty interesting but that was about 4 months ago---perhaps he still has.

Has anyone wrapped with the New Bermuda Sand? I'd love to see it. It's a shame Sam isn't going to sell it. The thing about him is that he has kit specials which are really good value. At the moment he has a few that work out to be $250 or so for a whole kit. Compare that with Precision. If I want to get this new BS wrap, it's $450 - just for wrap, without postage. And personally, I like the fact that the wraps are pre cut from Sam. I use the tape to position the wrap and then glue. I think wraps are very expensive. I wonder what the profit margin is? They must be expensive to make or something.
