O-Lugs!

Yes indeed! .. interestingly .. David and I have been talking about doing a total revamp of the software on the VDF, which will make it much EASIER and much more user friendly to upload pics/content. The small "tsetse fly" in the ointment is the estimated cost of doing so .. and .. is it really worth it, because of EXACTLY .. as you have made mention .. what is happening with forums today. Still ... we are looking at the possibility! 😎

Jag!

You have been a fine contributing member .. as are MANY! .. on the VDF for quite some time ... glad you are still here! 😎

Understood, Tommy. I just made a small donation to the cause. God knows I owe this place a lot! I've spent a lot of time here. Here's hoping for some better software! Cheers!

O-Lugs, Jag, and anyone else that has ever donated .. THANK YOU most kindly! David has always refused to allow ads on this site .. thus .. it’s all out of pocket on the daily running/up keep of the site. Your donations help defray those costs to a degree, and it is GREATLY appreciated. Neither David or myself have ever taken a single penny from the VDF since it’s inception. That said … a full on revamp of the site is NOT cheap, as you can well imagine. He/we are looking into a few different routes to take .. and again .. the overall climate of the economy/costs factor in pretty large. We will certainly let you all know if/what is transpiring after it’s all sorted out. We have the BEST members on the VDF ..period! .. despite slow traffic days here and there. It’s still … ALL GOOD! 😎✌🏻😎

Tommy, I really liked the "new" format that you introduced several year ago. It was shot down because all the old guys on here could not except the changes. It was similar to DFO if I remember correctly. For me, the only real improvement would be the loading of photos. Back in the old days when I actually used a simple digital camera it was easier to load the photos because I could set the camera so it would work, now with these fancy smancy smart phones I have no idea how to do that. And its too bad because I have done several restorations that I could not share with VDF. I could share on Facebook and I did but its not the same. VDF is a more personal site, I feel like its an group of buddies from high school.

I know I have not been a contributor much here on VDF for a while ( not too many guys even know me) but I always check in when I have an extra minute to see what's goin on. I think its time for me to make a donation as well, I would love to see the site updated but I also know its a huge expense. So, maybe this thread will get some of the old guys on here to dig into their pockets and make a contribution to the very thing that makes them happy!

Jeff!

… and glad you’re still here! THANK YOU for the donation too! As to where this site might end up new software wise, we don’t know yet. Really comes down to cost. 😎✌🏻😎

The VDF is the place to be!!

I check in at least once a day and make donations quarterly...The members here, both current and past, have a vast knowledge of vintage drums...It is so rewarding to see members from all over the world congregate in one place...

I raise a toast to the VDF and it's members!!

Cheers

VDF is lucky to have you!

DO you still have the one and only music for mutts badge?

Hey guys, thanks for the donation reminder. I don't check in as often as I used to but still appreciate all the info and laid back feel. Just popped for a Holiday donation.

Believe it or else!
