Where can I find another lug like this?

Loading...

I got this snare drum recently and the photos didn't reveal that one of the lugs is a generic pearl style lug. Anybody know were I can find a MIJ lug that matches this drum? Do you think a Rogers Beaver Tail reproduction lug would match close enough?

Hello ardrummer

The snare lug you needed was from a Hoshino Kougyou snare

I think they were copies of the very Roger's lug you ordered.

The center ridge is wider and not as high on the knock off

not sure of the spacing between the two

Center to Center spacing for a Rogers beavertail snare lug is 1 7/8". Hope it fits. If close, but too tight, use a round file to open the holes up.

Actually, Rogers Beavertail snare lugs are 1-15/16" center-to-center. Also, my guess for the spacing of the OP's drum is at least 2", possibly more.

Yeah, I may have to make some new mounting holes. This drum isn't in the greatest shape anyway, so I'm not worried about it. Going by pic, like you said, the middle part of the lug is a little different and it looks like the part that is closest to the shell angles down more on the Rogers, but unless someone was looking, I don't think they would notice it. The chrome is really scratched so I plan to re-wrap it :)

Got the lug and the spacing is the same, but I had to make the holes a little bigger to fit the new lug. I was glad I didn't have to drill new holes :)
