Talking about kits from ~60's/mid 70's....I NEVER see them anymore. Are they that rare? I know they are really in-demand as far as the ultimate "bop" kits and I know they are super-valuable....but WHO HAS THEM? Post some pictures if ya got 'em! :)
Where are all the vintage Gretsch "bop" kits?

Lee Ruff had two on ebay recent. Green and Red Sparkle. And there's a BDP one on Reverb for the past 6 months.
Was also a beat up Red Sparkle on ebay no reserve but was pulled off as soon as it began.
G4244 is the number on the tag to look for 14x18 BD (I believe..

I think if you get a new or late model with (or without) a Rail It's the same thing.
Sound barely changes.
Can even get a new 3 ply if you want to go into that 50s direction..
With Gretsch You can buy New old Drums pretty wonderful.
20" but still you can see..
maybe doesn't have the Faucet Ts and you can get the Gladstone FT brackets= Close enough For Jazz
I have a walnut stop sign badge bop set with a real 14x18 bass drum not a FT conversion . It sounds amazing and the Slingerland tom mount is original to the set . No extra holes .
Did you pay 6 grand for that kit?
Osahead2 has Many Gretsch bop sets and if he does not see this thread they might be in the gallery section .
I have one, and it is everything it is cracked up to be :)
Beautiful kits guys!
