That 50's 3 ply kit with accessories would probably fetch at least a couple thousand $ today. Oh well, hopefully it's still in use some where.

On a side note ...

Speaking of 1968 Chevelles (see pic). It's a Concours Sport Coupe and not an SS. I wrecked it in 1989 and it needed a complete re-paint, so I had blue 70's style SS stripes added. It also had a 307 and hubcaps when I got it in 1987. I rebuilt a 327, added Rally rims and upgraded/replaced a lot of other things over the years. It's a "drivers" car. ;)

I constantly added to that set, and it was all "players" additions. Not only did I combine it with my friend's Majestics (as talked about in that thread) from time-to-time, but I added a 16x16 FT which I ordered new, and of course the WMP was too white to really match. I later added cymbals and a 10x14 Ludwig marching tenor drum in Ludwig's version of WMP. The second tom just mounted on a SD stand, but I had intended to get a double post Ludwig Standard mount to mount it on the BD.

But I got saved from all of that "craziness" when I caught on with a 9-pc Chicago style band my senior year in in HS in Topeka, Ks. The band had a local music store as a sponsor, and that's when I got my dream kit (at that time): a new Ludwig Rock Duo set in Champagne Sparkle!

BTW, mine was actually a Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. It had stock wheels, however...
