What's my Gretsch vintage kit worth?

Loading...

hello all,

I'm new to this forum, have an older 3 piece (70's?) Gretsch kit that

I'm thinking of selling, looks like 5 ply rose coloured maple shell with

the silver internal linings, square Gretsch badges.

Gretsch Model ID (written inside bass drum): M4269

This is a big size power drum kit, something you would expect

John Bonham would have used in Led Zeppelin.

Chrome Snare :

Tom Tom : 14" wide x 13" deep

Floor Tom : 18" W x 19" D

Bass Drum : 24" W x 18" D

Condition : Good but with some scrathes here and there due to age I guess.

Is it worth reasonable money or not?

Would this be a 70's kit?

Looks like an early 80s techware hardware Gretsch set. Nice drums. The larger ones aren't worth as much as the smaller (20 or 18" bass) ones but still, the 14" rack tom is worth a decent amount. The set would probably sell for at least $1000 if it is in good shape and maybe slightly less if it is beat up on the outside. Good luck!

Thanks for your invaluable input Pounder.

$1000 is basically what I paid for them about 15 yrs ago now,

so has'nt appreciated at all in that time.:(

Do you think they're worth keeping as a potential collectible

in the not to distant future?
