You know the catalog says non-warping hardshells, not hardwood?
Makes me wonder if they were not the fiberglass.
Anyway - doesn't really matter. Just an observation.
Just found an old 3 piece set of Slingerland and White Hall drums in guys garage for $70.DOH Really don't need more drums, but can't pass it up.
Hey there, "non-warping hard shells" has to mean "hard wood" (remember these are Japanese people writing this at that time- the catalogs of those days have many little English errors. The irrefutable reason is that throughout the catalog every drumset is listed as having "non-warping hard shells" and we know that they were all wood (luan ply) from direct experience. I have actually played 68 Pearl super Deluxe drums here in Japan- they are wood shells.
