What year did the 5 Star Super Zyn's come out?

Hi,

Not sure, but what year did Zyn release the 5 star Super Zyn line? I know the original line came out in 1968. I also had heard that UFIP made the 5 Star line? Is this true? Phil Cormier Leominster, Ma 01453

Hi,

I made a mistake, the original line came out in the 1950's? Not 1968. Maybe in 1968 they changed the cymbal stamp? What year is what for the stamp? Anyone? Phil Cormier Leominster, Ma 01453

No UFIP did not make the 5 star line. They look completely different from anything UFIP made. And they say "Made in England" on the trademark too.

Hi,

Thanks for the info! Was the first issue of the 5 Star Zyn's say Five With the stars or was that later on in the 70's? Thanks! Phil Cormier

Hi,

Which are the 5 Star Super Zyn's, the ones that say 5 Star with the five stars above the Super Zyn logo? Their is another Super Zyn line that does not say Five Stars on the surface of the cymbal? Very confusing! Phil Cormier

The earlier ones from the 1950's-1960's didn't have the 5 star in the trademark. That changed maybe in the late 60's or early 70's. The actual year I don't know for sure. Maybe one of the U.K. guys would know.

Hi - I'm not sure when these Super Zyn's were introduced but they are incredible cymbals _ I have a 16"Super Zyn crash which is really sweet - quite K-ish. Then I have a set of 15"5 star super Zyn hats which are virtually identical to my 15" 60's A Zildjian hats and then the pick of the lot - a 5 star super Zyn 18" medium / medium heavy crash. I've got a video of it somewhere. Will look for it. Its a beaut both as a crash and a ride.
