I've got a receipt showing 1975 as year of purchase, but I think the set sat on the floor of the store a while,as no one could afford the kit!
Premier didn't even come out with a 9 by 13 tom till 1972 (!),so my kit can't be any earlier then that....

The thing that is so striking in all of this ...
Premier was using the 391 Lokfast holder by then. Yet, there is a clear indication of more than one other type of tom holder used on the kits. It's definitely a head scratcher. Obviously, the late 60s to the late 70s was an all-inclusive transition period as far as the bass/tom hardware is concerned. Interesting stuff.
I'm actually looking for a Premier kit with Mahogany inners. Are you looking to part with this one? Could you PM me so that we could exchange email info and swap pics and such? Wrap details, etc.
Even though they introduced new hardware periodically, Premier would use up all their old stock first before dipping into the new hardware. It was unwritten policy to not waste anything or throw good stock away. Which made it difficult to get replacement parts after a year or so. It's not uncommon to have mixed parts on the same kit during transition periods. Trying to nail down dates for Premier is next to impossible, all you can do is get close to a time period.

Here's my 70s Premier double bass kit. Virgin basses, 13,14,16,18 toms. You can see why your kit has me speaking with the wife.
