What would you think these are worth today? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I'm not selling these........just thinking I might get them appraised again if it's worth it.

The complete kit was appraised a few years ago.

In light of some of the prices I'm seeing these days for Gretsch and some other drums I'm thinking maybe I should get another appraisal. There are some good deals out there too but there are still drums being sold (bid to) very high prices.

Try to guess what the complete shellpack was appraised at in early 2010.

Now - what would you think it would sell for now - on eBay......just ballpark.

The shellpack - late 50's:

20 bd/ 12 rack tom / 14 Floor and the 5.5 snare. The snare has stickchopper hoops. The floor tom has the diamond legplates. All shells are 3ply shells except the floor tom which is 6ply. The drums are in excellent condition. I did repaint the silver sealer (very carefully though). I know I probably should not have done that. I replaced the MicroSensitive throwoff.....period correct via eBay (cheap = $200 haha). I bought a leg for the floor tom and a bd hoop and 8 lugs and claws = the original hoop was damaged and the lugs and claws were missing. Other than that everything was original and the drums were one owner and bought as a complete kit in 60.....the 6ply floor tom came with the kit.

The finish is excellent with one small cut in the floor tom next to (not at) a reso head lug (1.5") and hardly noticeable.

My guess is the drums would maybe sell for high $3k to $4k

Gold sparkle is not a rare finish but it is highly sought after from what I've been told.

Unfortunately Gretsch RB 20-12-14 prices have really dropped in the past 2 years. I think if they were all original, 3K-4K would be about right, but with the repainted interiors and split in the wrap, I'd say $2000-$3000.

Try Steve Maxwell drummermax@aol.com (that's the store email)...he has his finger on what's going on in the world of vintage Gretsch...
