What would you do in this case

Loading...

I found a nice set of chromed brass hoops. The hoops on my 1966 Club Date kit are steel, at this time, but since I don't have any idea how many times it's changed hands, I have no idea what they may have come with originally.

Should I put the brass ones on it? Or would that be screwing with value?

Are there any sonic subtleties with one or the other?

Thanks

By '66, the rims were no longer brass anyway, so I would leave the Club Dates as is, just to keep them original. Also, in the set of brass rims, do the 14's have 6 holes, or eight? They would need 6 to work on the Club Dates. If they have 8, I would just save the set in case you find a nice Downbeat kit.

Alright; that makes sense. Thanks for the reply.
