What to do, COB 14x5 Jupiter

Thanks Bill!

A good cleaning and wax did wonders for it. The rims match as well :)

Getting new heads for it tomorrow then slapping on a fresh set of 20 strand snares.

Will have to try it out at practice on monday.

Enjoy it!

A lot more practical in daily use than a Jupiter - like a Supra is compared to a Super-Sensitive.

found some fresh heads I forgot about Falling Do

slapped them on a gave 'er a quick tune so i could jam tonight with my friend and guitar player.

This is one sweetheart of a drum.

GREAT crack and some sexy overtones

If anyone pays attention around here - they know that I am an MIJ fanatic. At the same time, if you want my personal opinion, I would sell it - but that is my personal opinion because it just so happens that I dislike those lugs - never liked them and do not own any keepers with those lugs. I also do not like that muffler knob - looks so cheap cheap cheap......compared to its predecessor.

If they were the earlier battleship era lugs - that would be an entirely different story. I must concede though that I really like that strainer!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Well, maybe not the most beautiful lugs ever - but selling a snare because of that, regardless of the sound?!

I don´t get that line of thought at all.

There are alot of COB snares out there. If he sells this one, he could replace it with another COB. By the beautiful looks of it, it should fetch a decent amount of cash to work with.

I dont think I could ever sell a drum because of its lugs. But to each their own and I respect that.

She has QUITE a voice I must say.

Looking forward to playing her more today.

Drummer John, I too love that strainer. However its poorly designed as it hangs up on the hoop and head when "thrown off".

Pretty easy fix if I were to tear it back down, coupla washers to space it away from the shell and voila!

This drum is missing its muffler so I get an extra vent outta the deal.

I also have a slingy Krupa COB snare, they are different sounds entirely.

Played it with the band and am REALLY loving this little drum.

Prior to this I'd been using a 13x8 for the needed punch, this lil booger has it all!
