From Ludwig-dude

One of the geniuses that asked a question IN the auction states that its a 6-ply from the 80's.......WRONG! Look close at the last pic and you wil see its a 3-ply with reinforcement rings. The badge was obviously switched as stated above. And I'll go with the theory of a school ID etched into the lug. I wouldn't waste too much time outbidding each other on this one, since you can't even be sure its a real Ludwig without more mics of the inside of the shell, etc.

My neighbor is a sound guy and he said to put the mics inside the shell.:p

Hey, now I like that theory alot. Maybe it's not even a Ludwig(different badge, rewrap, legs missing)at all, so the orphan may be a wolfSlingy in sheep's clothing! thus we need to peek inside the shell some more. That's it, I'm retracting my BID! This is utterTOMfoolery!Laughing H That big LUG thought he fooled us.Yes Sir

FYI.

The red floor tom sold for $305 just now, so I guess the market value wins again. It was at $33 only 18 hrs ago. It's somebody elses mystery now...Hurting

It's not like it was a 14...And with all the issues, very visible ones at that..."Ignorance may be overcome with education, stupidity, however, is a lifelong endeavor"--John Meyer, "jonnistix"

I think it was a 18'' though, not sure what the 16'' would go for but I'm guessing less.

Violin Yea, I guess you're right it WAS an 18" The measurement said 17x18" This guy's not a drummer so he did his best, but an 18" really explains the high selling price. That seller has the midas touch. Unreal. Oh wellCoffee Break2 I'll go find another floor tom to bid on.
