What sticks do you use?

From AZBill

I looked, although very briefly, to see if there was a previous thead on stick use; didn't see one - I'm also not wearing my cheaters. I realize different types of playing (and music) may dictate what type of stick a player might use, but after reading though the "shoes" thread, I started to wonder about other variable aspects about our playing.I have used wood-tipped, Vic Firth 5A's for decades. I have played moslty rock, blues and some country with them and still use them to this day. Do any of you guys do something similar and do you working guys use a specific tool for a particular job? Just curious and thought it might make for good conversation.TGIF!!! D' DrummerB

I have become quite a fan recently of Regal's Keith Carlock model. I know he plays traditional grip and I can tell that these sticks were designed with a trad. grip drumset player in mind. They are longer- so the left hand has some reach and the taper is gradual thicker towards the back and thinner to the front. Also has a great pine cone head- sounds good for jazz sticking. I used them for a few months and then ordered 12 pair recently- check em out especially if you play trad. grip on drumset. A very balanced stick.
