I was thinking goo gone, but was afriad it might damage the finish. Any experience here?

Goo Gone will work well, but I've also found it to melt glue at the seam. Had to reglue and clamp!!!

Just sayin.... be careful.

I was able to pull the old tape off (after 1.5 hours). However, the peanut butter worked great at getting the old residue adhesive off.

Thanks for the help!

Now for some Novus for additional polishing.

I'm glad it worked for you. I don't care to eat peanut butter, but I keep a jar of Skippy around for just this purpose.

for hardware??

a good soak in dawn and water, as recommended every where here.

after that, i recommend a soak in CLR and a scrub with a non abrasive pad on stubborn stuff.

rince well.

novus is highly recomended..

I use Peek and a polishing wheel for final finish,.
