I know this is probably of no real help because of where I live but I sold the near identical kit last week, restored and with Birch/Lauan shells instead of the usual Lauan only. They had the thicker shells. Apart from one tom T-rod, 3 washers and a muffler knob it was completely original (missing the BD cymbal arm) but filthy when i got it and I did the full treatment as you have to yours. Sold it, shells only, for $US670 which I was pleased with and on the high side even here, but well worth it considering its condition and sound.

BTW, your's look great and the photos are excellent.

Those are really gorgeous and your hard work is evident. Love the matching snare too. These don't look like cheap MIJs to me. Really nice and love the root beer color too. I'd go $700.

Be great to get $700 for these, but I'm trying to be realistic, and not set a price that would take forever to meet, especially in my local market. I'd been debating whether $375 would be too ambitious.

First - they're Vintage drums.......that's worth something right there to the right buyer who is looking for exactly what you have.

Second - they're in beautiful condition - gorgeous wrap too!

Third - If someone wants your beautiful drums $700 + is not too much....

We're not talking about a floor tom or a snare drum here - this is a complete kit ready to go.

Forth - Keep in mind this kit - or one like it - would have sold for about $300 in 1965 (I know - I had one similar) and that would be $1700 in today's dollars.

I'm afraid I can't confirm US-$ 700 for this set. The wrap looks fantastic. But I think the time to sell is not the right one for such a price. Perhaps in two or three or five years.

But I'm talking here from Germany and for roughly 530 Euro I'd be looking for a complete set with not a trace of 'modification' (like the snare drum with the 'wrong' badge on) ...

Maybe I'm wrong, as I don't live on your side of the pond.

The time you spent for it should be counted as 'fun time'. Otherwise you will be heavily underpaid, aren't you? ;-)

NB: as stated here often: you just need that one buyer who MUST HAVE that kit - and the price easy to get.

I agree with Kona and Larryz. With your kit in the condition it's in now you should shoot higher. Compare it to a mid-range modern kit and use that as a selling point. I know how many hours of work you would have put into that kit and frankly $350 seems too cheap to me. That said, prices are higher here and finding a good quality vintage kit that's ready to go with no work required is not easy. But I reckon to someone looking for vintage mojo but ready to play and doesn't want the usual new stuff, $500 - $700 won't seem too steep. So basically you want to market it to a new kit buyer rather than a vintage collector and market it with loads of great photos.

Normally I would consider $375 a pretty steep price for an MIJ kit. This particular kit looks pretty fantastic and the photos are nice as well. I like the addition of some colored lighting. Nice touch. Where in the world did you get that logo head?! Cool Dude (just kidding)

Beautiful kit. It is certainly worth $375. Wait for the right buyer. I love that wrap!
