Check the Vintage Drum section for a write up about the innerds of the drum shells. It actually covers the brands of paint used. If they weren't painted, the sections speak on that, too. Good stuff in them thar hills.

I'm normally a bit more alert than that. I blame it on eating healthy and exercise. My heads just a bit too clear. So.......sorry.

In response to the ACTUAL question posed.....there really is a nice thread on this forum about painting the HOOPs. It goes back and forth on the benefits of semi-gloss and gloss black. It also speaks of differing brands. Do a search for it and it should pop up.

I went to Search..... typed in "painting bass hoops", and found some good advice, I'm getting ready to paint my Slingy hoops soon, and will be following the advice I found.

What? National Rodentia Measuring Rod Day??

mcjnic Rodentia Measuring rods. These were fairly stiff and cumbersome measuring sticks made from the stretched and dried bodies of voles or muskrats. Due to the inherent imprecision, they were phased out.

That cracked me up...and then I read the name of the author...which led to much weeping. I'm really starting to freak myself out.

I have a set of Slingy hoops that need repainting, too. Which thread did you tap?
