I’m considering picking this one up. Any insight as to what make/model it might be? Solid shell? 3 ply?
Thanks!!

Some additional more detailed pictures needed. Close up of badge, picture of bearing edge and shell interior. If badge and tone control are original to this drum than ~'62. Snare bridges (if original) suggest the 'Radio King' model. Unless this is bargain priced proceed with caution. The strainer is not original and there appears to be some extra holes in the shell behind the strainer. Definitely worth checking further.
Hi. Thank you.
Yes. The badge is a pre-serial number badge so I agree, 1962.
I was also thinking the ‘extra holes’ are from the original 3 point strainer. No?
I’m also confused about the tone control... thought the radio king had the double pad muffler? Maybe not all the time. ?
Waiting on further pics of that edge.
fishaa, last year for double pad muffler was '61. First year for single pad j-hook muffler is '62 so that makes sense. I agree the extra holes may be for the original 3 point strainer which leads to the question of whether there are additional holes for the aftermarket throw? A solid shell would be expected for a '62 'Radio King' model.
Yes. There must be at least one hole there for the after market strainer, I think.
So... a no brainer for $150, agreed? Especially if it’s solid shell.
Agreed, barring any unseen structural damage. Should be a great 'player' at the very least.
Here are a couple pics with no skin. Looks solid shell to me.
Thoughts?
Yes, looks good. If badge is pre-serial 'Niles' than '62 makes sense. The 3-ply shells in '62 had a mahogany interior ply and this one is not that. No stamps on the interior is also correct for solid shells. Butt side bridge appears factory too.
