What is YOUR Top 10 Drummer's List of All Time

I get that people associate "favorite drummer" with a "favorite band". But, how does Charlie Watts appear on any list od top ten drummers? Other than playing slag beats with a very popular group, what has he done to impact the art of drumming? He admits he's only a mediocre rock and jazz drummer. This kind of stuff just doesn't compute to me.

For the same reason you do not see Ginger Bakers name at the top of each list yes many other drummers were better maybe at certain styles but anyone who has researched Bakers life knows he is from a Jazz backround , but he plays blues ,rock, fusion, and African rythyms so complex most of us would just sit and scratch our heads..... so a one trick pony he is not but a very talented Drummer and the very best I have ever seen....

Stephen Adler!!Cool1BowingParadise City's intro is the most recognizable drum intro on the planet!!! Plus, if Axl and Slash weren't egomaniacs and let that dude get loose, he would have reached super stardom much the same as some other household names!! LOL not a chance... "were an American band " Grand funk railroad" sold more, been played more, and is a better tune simply because Axel in not in it... :)

I`m surprized to see Ringo Starr on anyones` list,...drummers like him are a dime a dozen 20 for a nickle !!

A dime a dozen?!!! I don't think so!!! Ringo played some incredibly inspired beats. Was he technically proficient? Heck no... but that doesn't take away from the fact that he played tasty drums for each and every Beatles song... PERIOD. Stop knocking Ringo!!!
