I played a Ludwig Speedmaster for years. Nice loose action and I used a Ludwig wood beater with it as well. Just felt right. But have been playing a good ole 60's Speed King for quite some time now. Feels good.
What Is Your "Go To" Bass Pedal
I've played and tried many pedals over the years..
Tama Camco..
1st generation Tama IC
DW5000-9000
Speed Cobra
Then finally the Pearl Eliminator..
It's the perfect workhorse pedal with just enough adjustment options and not too many fancy gadgets..
Quad beater makes for perfect attack in any room, venue, or recording situation.

Along with a Swiv-O-Matic, a couple DW 5000s and a Yamaha double (all very nice), I have several Slingerland Tempo Kings and Yellow Jackets. My go-to for the last few years has been a chain-drive Yellow Jacket.

60's Ludwig Speed King. 55+ years now... I've tried em all, but I always come back to my Speed King.
John
WFL SpeedKing....I use a 9000 series Gibraltar double pedal sometimes but my 50's WFL is by far my favourite "go to" pedal.
Anyone use a old Slingerland "Krupa" bass pedal on a regular basis? Always wondered how well they played. Would love to have one.
Speed King has always been my faithful go to. My first drum teacher had SK's on the practice kits in his studio back in the 60's. Those got me hooked. Mine's a old WFL. Works pretty well but not smooth as I'd like. Some quirks getting it apart completely snagged my resto.
Few years ago I got a Tama Iron Cobra dbl pedal which I really really like a lot. Far from vintage though.
I'd like to have a 1st Gen Rogers Swivo (1 pc footboard) this is on my wishlist along with a Swivo hi hat pedal.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
