Awesome looking snares....
The exotic shells available nowadays and the retro hardware make for some serious eye candy.

Holy sheep-dip!! Can it be possible to fall in love, twice. I like this one better than the other one. How does something like that sound? What kind of snare wires do you use on it? Who's throw? I love the lugs, t-rods and claws on it. WOW!!! Mind BlowiB
It sounds very woody. lol. It does sound great. With a single ply head, it is open and ringy. With the coated PS3 thats on it, it sounds rich and dark. Dunnett R4 throw. Puresound 20s. Very rewarding project.
Of course I worry about it, but the shell is 1/2" thick and the wood seems quite dry. There were several of these shells that became available at the same time, and I have not heard of any problems. I have had it for over a year now and it mostly stays in my drum studio at an even temp. I had it set up with triple flange hoops for a while, and it might have sounded a little better, but it just looks so cool with the wood hoops.
AtomicM,Fine looking drum!! The inlay on the hoops is quite good. Looks real sharp!!
Cheers,BigE
