What is this? Help!!!!!

Anyone know what this is? I found it in my basement and don't have a clue. There are no badges and no other markings except for an illegible pencil mark on the shell inside.

Well...I'll take a couple of guesses...

Guess #1: It looks like it could have been made by Ludwig because of that black bakelite grommet. I have some "toy" Ludwig drums that have that same grommet. Since it's a 6-lug drum with no throwoff (just the tension screw), it probably would have been considered an economy model drum -it may have even been intended for use with an old "toy" set like a Ludwig Junior model or something like that.

Guess #2: It might be a drum that was made by Ludwig, but not labled as such and then distributed under various maker's names -kind of like an early-American version of a Japanese "stencil" kit. :)

Hopefully, someone will confirm or deny my guesses.
