What is this drums ?

Loading...

Hi Everyone :) !

I have never seen a drum like this, and I haven' find ANYTHING about this in the internet !

As you can see it's a little bit "Tama-ish" :).

The outside is obviously not Luan .

Maybe the inside isn't Luan either ( see it through the front skins hole...)

I want to know if it's a worthy set to buy or not.

I appreciate any info about this drums !

Thanks!

I don't know exactly what they are but I like the natural shells and they look fairly well made. 10 lug each side on bass drum and roger type lugs. If the price is right clean them up and see how they sound. Might have a jem there.

No, they don't look like they are made of luan inside or out. The grain is running horizontally inside & yeah, the build looks decent.

So it is maybe not a Japanese made set I guess... :(

The badge doesn't say anything about that.

Hmm...I've just done a bit of Googling simply because the drums look pretty well-made. From what I gathered, they are Japanese, 60's-70's. I believe the wood was birch on the outside. I would not be surprised if the grain ran vertically on the inside though. I've been wrong a lot of times though! Anyway, the drums look pretty cool!

I wonder if it was made by Dallas for Rose Morris in London. Dallas made a Rogers drum with that style lug and similar mounts for Hawkes.

The whole Rose Morris, Shaftsbury thing comes to mind.
