What is this bit for?? - 60's Ludwig

Does anyone one what this is for?? It attached to is a 1969 Downbeat bass drum. It's only on one side of the drum and its slightly different from the lugs for the bass drum spurs.

I think you are looking at the bass cymbal mount. Kinda hard to tell from the closeup. You don't hear that too often.

No. It's the bass cymbal mount.

Well.........it is a bass cymbal mount that holds the L-arm for holding a cymbal. Cool?
