What drummer are you? Last viewed: 11 hours ago

Just for fun here, was wondering what all of you guys actually do with these drums. Im sure most of you are professional players but to what level, are you gigging in bars on the weekends or on a world wide tour? Or are you just banging away with some guys in a basement like I do. Anyone here just collecting and not playing at all. Just curious.

Thank you!

You guys that play professionally are you making a living, touring the country or playing local venues. Do we have anyone here that tours internationally?

Thank you!

I just like to touch and smell old drums. And occasionally play them.

Well, before the internet, I was happy playing solo at the house with one set. Out of town work schedule didn't allow for "pro" playing. Now there are 6+ sets sharing space in the basement. Have since retired and now enjoy my time and energy with blue/roll band - "semi pro level"and fun guys.

Formerly a professional touring drummer that still tours nationally and internationally but I've opted for the technical and management side of things. Frankly, I love it, the pay is way better, and I can replicate myself as opposed to being limited to sitting on a single drum throne to earn an income.

I miss playing full time though. I started a backline rental division just so I could mess around with drums. :-)

Me too! I'm 65 I think my band/gigging days are over. I'm in it purely for fun and my deep love of drums.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
