You guys that play professionally are you making a living, touring the country or playing local venues. Do we have anyone here that tours internationally?

In two different bands now. one rock and a blues/rock band.

Use to make money at it when I was younger but now it's just to entertain myself, my wife and my neighbors. I think it's great. D' Drummer My wife is my biggest fan. Kiss Not too sure how my neighbors feel about it. :eek:

Im lucky my neighbors are far enough away and never home. My oldest daughter is our #1 fan, lol!

I just like to touch and smell old drums. And occasionally play them.

I just love beating my brains out in the privacy of my own home.

Well, before the internet, I was happy playing solo at the house with one set. Out of town work schedule didn't allow for "pro" playing. Now there are 6+ sets sharing space in the basement. Have since retired and now enjoy my time and energy with blue/roll band - "semi pro level"and fun guys.

Formerly a professional touring drummer that still tours nationally and internationally but I've opted for the technical and management side of things. Frankly, I love it, the pay is way better, and I can replicate myself as opposed to being limited to sitting on a single drum throne to earn an income.

I miss playing full time though. I started a backline rental division just so I could mess around with drums. :-)

Me too! I'm 65 I think my band/gigging days are over. I'm in it purely for fun and my deep love of drums.
