I've come across this Hollywood Ludwig set, that has all original hardware and was once silver sparkle. Sadly the guy painted them blue with car paint. What would you be willing to pay? I've heard it is possible to restore them. Sorry no pictures.

It's a case of "IF". If the shells are 3 ply. If the edges and rerings and such are in good shape. If the hardware is in good shape. If there's no monkey business on the drums. Then, I would pay just under what a rewrap set would bring. That way, if you are not able to clean the wrap, you can slap a new wrap on it and not lose money on the deal. If you are able to save the wrap, you got a deal. Either way, your cash investment is secure. Going rate for a rewrap Luddy kit varies. I would set my sites on about 550-800 for a rewrap kit (shell condition and hardware being the factor). That puts the payout price at about 400-550. That's fair pricing.
