Rogers Dynasonic 1983...... never tuned up, original head snap crackle and pop on first tuneup. Condition was perfect. And still is. The second one is also a 1983 Dynasonic, and in very good condition. Cost of both is less than half the value of either one.

Ayotte Custom Drums, 1995..... pawn shop purchased for aprox. 15 cents on the dollar. Very nice drums. The 14x14 floor tom is a Mapex M, and the color is a good match. Cost for an Ayotte to be made for match was over 1100.00. I use DW 9000 series stands.

I would trade these for a good vintage Rogers 4 piece 1963-68, with matching powetone snaredrum.

Snagged these off ebay last April 08, they were on aprox. 8 minutes. BIN 400.00, 16x18 factory bass drum, 8x12, 9x13, 14x14, Rogers, 1983-84, value $$$$. Excellent condition

From Stixnergard2

Gretsch RB kit with all original hardware and K Istanbul cymbals. $300.00 from the original owner, no missing parts or extra holes. This was a once in a lifetime score.

Man, talk about being in the right place at the right time ! Excellent score, Stix man ! And I thought I got a great deal on an old Gretsch set !

Those old Luddys are great, too. And who says lightning doesn't strike twice...!?

Bravo, good brother ! Bravo !

From The Ploughman

1966 Rogers Sparkling Blue Pearl 14x14 floor tom to go with my 1966 Rogers 20-12-16, with matching Powertone. The 14x14 cost me 300.00.

Great sets, Ploughman !

I think I felt some nice tingles while drooling over that '66 Rogers set...

Can't beat that old Swiv-O-Matic hardware. About the only bass-mounted cymbal arm I'd trust as gig-worthy. Thought about getting another old set of Gretsch round badge as a project to adapt all Swiv-O-Matic hardware onto for gig-worthiness.

I'm not toooooo jealous...

That is a TwentyFour Inch Paiste 2002 Ride on top of that Sparkling Blue Pearl 20" Rogers Bass Drum. It is very gig worthy.

Greta looking set if only it wasn't re-wrapped. I'm sure they sound great.

yes. Too bad, indeed. The owner said he rewrapped them in the early 70's because he "didn't like the silver sparkle wrap that was on them".DOH

The rewrap job is pretty bad also. It looks like a thick vinyl and has bubbled quite considerably. Oh, well, it is a good sounding gigging kit.

None of mine are as sexy as the previous posts, but hey... I'm doing my best here!!

Deal #1 - 1920's Ludwig 13" X 3.5" student model snare. All original including heads and snare wires. Heads were trashed - Have the snare wires safely stored away. It sounds WAY bigger than it looks. Cost around $61.00.

Deal #2 - 70's (?) Acrolite. Purchased as part of a no-name import kit for $125.00. Sold the kit minus the snare for $100.00 shortly thereafter. Final cost of snare = $25.00

I consider both of my Kent kits as "deals", but other's may disagree. Kent haters :(
