They look Japanese, so I would say they are either Pearl or Star made. Closer pics of the Slingerland copy lugs would tell which of the two is the manufacturer.

I'm not impressed with the added mounting hardware or the Ludwig badge, however. Ehh, maybe these were someone's players, so that could sort of excuse the mounts, but the badge is unforgivable... Off with their heads!!!

Ah, come on, man! These could still be ok players. The asking price is too high, but I think there is still some rocking to be done on these drums!

+1. That would be a cool players kit. Excellent for the quick running gigs. Neato. Are you thinking of picking it up?

Actually, it would be for my brother who lives in Vietnam and wants a "cool players kit". I'm scouting for something inexpensive but durable for clubs. I'll probably rewrap it unless I find something "cool looking". Hoping to find a set of solid tubs in the $200 range. Preferably a 12-14-20 configuration (Jazz/Hiphop). Need something pro ---not a student line. I'll entertain offers from members if you have a kit that is close to those sizes with no major issues. Maybe someone has orphans? Coffee Break2

Seller added some pics for me. It's kind of odd that bass has 3 rerings rack tom 2 rerings & floor tom no rerings. It's definitely the Asian MIJ wood for the shells(can't remember term.) Don't know if I should spend more $$ to rewrap this kind of shell. What says jonnistix?

Actually, the bass and rack are correct. This Asian luaun is the thinner 3 ply version and best I can tell, the floor tom is 5 ply. They are the later transitional Pearl stencils and I have seen a couple of kits wit this shell configuration, 3 ply bass and rack mixed w/5 ply floor tom. The third re-ring in the bass is for added strength to hold the toms over time. These shells are the ones that have that 60s Slingerland tone and resonance. This kit has been jacked with. The tom mounts are all later Pearl memri-loc stuff, all switched out from the original. This is a 50-75 kit, IMHO, as it is missing the snare.

If you check is other items, he has a nice Star hi-hat "Top Stand" for a decent price. I have one and it is a great little hat stand for on the cheap.

Jonni, can you explain your lingo for me here? Sumo Dude He has changed the auction to "or best offer" and I understand the hardware is altered. Are you saying to just pass on this and keep shopping? Thanks.

Gretsch copy lugs on a floor tom that looks like a ludwig rocker shell???

Looking at all the components on those 3 drums, someone build a kit with whatever he had

Better forget about the "matching snare"...
