True it will, but the pins in this case are NOT hollow, they are solid. I've done the above method with the self centering center punch and it works fine.

In a pinch you can always use a good quality nail with the tip cut flat as a punch. Sometimes when I don't have a tool, I'll make one LOL. That spring punch is pretty interesting looking too. I'll have to pickup one of those and see how they are. Thanks for the tip!
