WFL Restore COMPLETED (and for sale!)

Loading...

Ok folks, this is what 6 months of blood, (yes blood) sweat, and tears gets you. May I present my full restored 1950ish WFL kit! I looked and looked through my Ludwig Book and couldn't get an exact date but I am thinking between late 40's to early 50's on this guy. The snare drum is dated Sept. 5th 1957 so it is a little bit later 50's than the rest of the set. Sizes are 13, 16, 24 with a 10x14 snare. I stripped the entire drum set of it's paint. The Duco had been covered with a thick blue paint and then spray painted all over. See original pic. I then tried my hardest to match the wine-mahogany that all those old Ludwig snares had and did a fair job in my opinion :) After that I cleaned all the nickel hardware and re-did the hoops on the kick and the snare to match eachother. These puppys have 3 coats of wipe on stain and two coats of wipe on poly. Beautiful the way they turned out. Like I said 6 months of work so if you have any questions about anything I did feel free to ask. The kit will come with the original kick hoop mount for the rack tom. Speed King not included. I have zero idea what these are actually worth. But I am going to as $1200 shipped to the lower 48. Open to offers as well. No trades on this one as I have an engagement ring to pay off! Unless you have something I really really want of course ;) Ok, I'm physically and mentally worn out on this kit so ask any questions and I'll be happy to oblige. Also, additional pics can be done! Thanks, I hope that I can do this till I die, I love it!

I know you worked hard on those. but, it is a completely mismatched set.

and just curious what you stained it in, not sure what to call it. Natural would have looked good. Have you had any offers? No doubt they are nice drums! You might do better parting them out.
