Wfl Ludwig Snare

Loading...

Hello To All . I Am New To This Forum So Bare With Me.

I 'm Posting My First Message.

I Have A 6.5 X 14 WFL Ludwig Snare. I Researched The Drum To Find Out , What Year It Was Produced. The Stamp Inside Is A Little Blurred, But I Believe It Said 1956. The Badge Is From 1955-1959

The Butt Side Has WFL Engraved In It.

But Here Is The Mystery! The Strainer, Original, Is A P85!

I Have Seen These snares With The Classic Strainer On Them. i purchased a classic strainer at the last Chicago drum show.

there are no other drill holes so i feel the strainer is original.

Any Ideas On How This Can Be?

Maybe it originally had the P83 and that was replaced with the P85.

Is it the P85 with the black center face?

Any pictures?

No possible way it could be an "original" P-85...because the P-85 wasn't even in existence in 1955-59.

It is very likely that someone replaced the original P-83 with a p-85. They both have the same mounting hole pattern.
