What year (more or less) did the "WFL" become the "Ludwig" Speed King?
I know I should be able to read it in the articles/history, but sometimes there are parts lying around that haven't been used and get carried over.
?
Thanks!

57 was the last year of the wfl catalog and badges. 58 began ludwig transition badges and such. ive seen many early and up to mid 60's kits that the owners say the wfl pedal and hi hat stand came with the kit new. i figure just stock left over from ludwig and the ludwig dealer.

Mike that's good to know thanks. I was wondering the same thing.
Thanks, Mike -- that's helpful
I've seen car restoration guys (including me) go nuts trying to figure out why X part came with Y car!
so that would be the same for the flat base hi-hats with the speed king footboard?.Mine is WFL.
should be the same as well.

Did Ray Bauduc invent the Speed King? I thought I read somewhere that he did.

Walter Huekstead is what I heard.
Cecil Strupe invented the speed king pedal shortly after he started working for WFL.
Now I thought it was invented by Bill and Theo in a old barn in the South Side of Chicago !! Changes made along the way of it`s life !!
