weird Star tom

Hi,

a friend of mine has a 12" Star tom in absolute PERFECT condition, looks like it's never been played! He got it completely naked (no lugs, rims or mounts) only wrap and badge!! All holes were drilled and that's where it gets weird...

The top 6 lugholes match perfect for any 12" rim but the distance between the bottom lugholes is different and don't match the top holes so it won't take any standard rim!! any explanations??

i was thinking about a production fault...

Can you post pics especially of the inside? Can you notice any extra holes that have been filled in the shell? I wonder if this is a re-wrap?
