I was fortunate enough to pick up two new additions to my meager personal collection of vintage American-made snares over the week-end. I'm hoping that you "experts" out there can provide some additional information regarding each.
The first is either a WFL or Ludwig (I'm not sure since the strainer says WFL, but the badge is a Ludwig transition badge) White Marine Pearl Super Classic.
The second is a George Way Black Diamond Pearl Aristocrat.
I'm trying to determine whether this particular Super Classic would be considered a "Buddy Rich" Super Classic or simply a Super Classic. I've read and received conflicting information regarding this particular question. Someone mentioned something about the configuration of the snare butt. Also, is this particular drum considered a WFL Super Classic or a Ludwig Super Classic?
In regard to the Aristocrat, is there any way of identifying the year this particular one was manufactured? It measures 14 x 5 1/2 including the rims. Any other information regarding this particular model would also be appreciated. I haven't seen too many of these around and certainly not in this condition.
As usual, THANKS in advance for your help!
