Crazy story, check this out. Just wanting to see if the community on here can help me out. I just bought a vintage Japanese jr. drum kit today and I thought I'd run this by you all.
Back story - I have an ad on Craigslist where I'm looking for a local set in Lexington, KY. Well, this guy calls me today and says, I have a warehouse in Lexington and I found an old drum set in a big box, I've owned the warehouse since 1966 and I have no clue where this came from. So, needless to say, I got in my car and headed straight down there. When I arrived he took me back in the warehouse where he had the big box pulled aside. I opened the box and found a brand new Magnum Deluxe Jr. Drum Kit, Japanese made obviously. It has a silver metal flake finish and it's all there; heads, hardware, cymbal, tom, kick drum, pedal, sticks, etc. All wrapped in the original paper and packing materials.
The shipping label says it came from 20th Century Music in Chicago and it was shipped to 8th Note Music in Winchester, KY. The shipping label is dated Jul 14 1975.
After haggling for a few minutes I bought the set for $115 and loaded it in my car. My question to the forum is this, what do you think this thing is worth?
