WANTED: Slingerland Concert Toms

Loading...

I'm looking for a pair of Slingerland COW 8" and 10" concert toms.

First: Can you Slingy experts confirm that these actually existed and were available in the '70s? I couldn't find examples in the catalogs. I'm looking to give these to a close friend to add to his pristine COW 50N set...

Any leads appreciated.

Hey man, while you're out buying drums to complete friend's kits... buy me a 14"x14" Pre-serial Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl floor tom please! Laughing H

That is such a cool thing you're doing for your buddy. I have always said that drummers are some of the coolest people around and what you're doing is one of the reasons why. Best of luck in your hunt. You're a good man Charlie Brown...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Thanks all for your replies and interest.

Snaremania: If my buddy’s set was anything but COW, I’d take you up on that red pair and rewrap them, but I know I’d never be able to rewrap in chrome and get it right.

John: When a friend gives you a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, the least you can do is give him a pair of concert toms to complete his kit. And if I had that 14” Sky Blue FT, it would be yours! Considering how much stuff you’ve gifted to a bunch of us here, you deserve to have something thrown your way.

Thanks again everyone for keeping your eyes peeled for these toms. Please let me know if you find any leads. I’ll even throw in a finder's fee (cymbal or pedal) as a reward to anyone who brings in these varmints dead or alive. 

Longjohn: Wow, that JamminSams wrap really looks like actual chrome. So....

Snaremania: Could you post a pic of the toms you have for sale?

Yes it's fairly convincing.. These pics would be taken around six or more years ago.. The Tama 6.5 (pictured left in the yard) and in then (behind the FT) indoors is actually a Rosewood shell that I wrapped back then.. The Tama is my most used snare and the wrap has proven to be quite durable.. Also used that same wrap for inlays on the Slingerland BD..

Cheers

Mike good luck with the project. Very cool thing for a friend to do! I hope to find some concert toms in light blue pearl. Haven't seen many in my color. Those COW's I do see often. The re wrap is a nice way to go too!! Either way please post some pics. Hope all is well with you and yours!

Bump

Just thought I'd bump this thread to let everyone know that this was a successful quest. Thanks to Snaremania for selling me the very nice pair of Slingerland concert toms (wrapped in solid red), and thanks to LongJohn for recommending the Mirror Chrome wrap from Jammin' Sams. I 'm happy with how this turned out, and I'm sure my buddy is going to be blown away with his Christmas present.
