WANTED: old, beatup 14x14 floor tom

Loading...

I'm looking for an old, beatup, any brand, any color, any condition, 14x14 floor tom (must have 8 lugs for both heads). I'm putting together a practice kit so it doesn't matter what it looks like. Please email if you have something, sometimes I get lost in the forum. donothorpe@gmail.com

You may want to check this one out.

I'm not sure if he'd be willing to ship but you certainly can't beat the price: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/msg/2027805995.html

Well, I had a little bid on that before it came on here. Normally, unless someone posts them here, I can win a bid...

thanks jonnistix, I bid on it, but it still has 3 days left, and the bidding could get out of hand.

I had the original bid. That was before it showed up here on the forum. Once an item has been posted here, the bidding on certain items then gets out of hand.

I miscalculated and missed it. It went for $30 + $20 shipping, not bad for a nice 14" floor tom -- although it was missing the bottom rim, and was a 6 lug drum. Still it looked pretty good for the price. And I think that almost any drum can sound good if it has quality heads and is tuned properly. Everyone raves about maple shells, but it takes a very refined ear to hear the difference between shell woods. What do you think?

To me, that was more than it is worth. Even though they are hard to come by, especially these thin shelled thumpers, bad wrap job, missing parts, 20 maybe 25 was all I would go because that means I have 50 in it before hoop, heads and rods. Let's face it, they are still MIJ, and 50 for a floor tom is top shelf, to me, and I knew someone wanted it worse than I, so I just passed.
