vistalite question

calling all ludwig drum guru's

i'm concerned that i may have gotten a forged vistalite off ebay

to me it looks like a repro with an added on muffler. here's my question.

was the muffler mounted above the badge in all lines of the vistalites? every picture i've seen is that way. the tom i got off ebay is not though.

any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

i'll post a pic tomorrow if need be

it's 3:45 in the morning right now so yeah no time for a pic

Hi,

I am not a vistalite expert, but thought I would add my two cents :) . From the pics I have seen online, it appears that the muffler can be anywhere along the perimeter of the shell (i.e., on the same or different pane as the badge), but always seems to be drilled at a higher position than the badge (regardless of the pane it is located on). My vistas are the newer reissue ones and dont have a muffler...sorry! Hope this helps!
