Vistalite Bearing edge, Snare Bed?

Loading...

a couple months back a really good friend of mine was very generious and gave a Vistalite snare to me. thank you Gonedrumming, (mike) that was very nice of you, and you didnt have to do that. i love the snare, and i will probably never part ways with it.

over all the snare sounds great. it has a deep crack to it, almost like a marching snare.

when i was putting the drum together i noticed there was practicly no snare bed more less a bearing edge. is that normal?

i also noticed i get a lot of buzz from this drum.

i have watched youtube videos and tuned this drum and changed heads, snare wires and all and i cant seem to find a way to make it stop.

i have heard from other people that, that was common for early vistalite's. (the no edges)

could the buzzing be because of the lack of snare beds?

can anybody give me thier opinion.

I had a bait casting reel once, it was a $90 Shimano, that I couldn't cast even once without either getting a birdnest or thumbing it so tightly that the cast was cut off way, way short of the mark. I fiddled around with the magnetic controls, tensioners and all that and I still could not use the thing and not get a birdnest that took forever to untangle.

I ended up just giving it to my brother.Falling Do

have a wonderful evening
