Vintage yamaha tour series 8000

So, i'm reluctantly putting my Yamaha Tour series up for sale here on VDF,(i'd prefer to sell locally) but i know there will at least be someone who'll appreciate this awesome kit. RARE AND ELUSIVE MIJ Yamaha Tour series (8000) drum kit.. You Yamaha guys know what these drums are, so i'll let them speak for themselves.. They're warm, fat, have a great attack, are punchy with an awesome tuning range.. Will stand it's ground with any current high end Yamaha series of today.. Mahogany/Birch plies, with i believe 30* bearing edges.. A few minor scuffs and scratches, but are barely visible.. Had one hoop repaired by a pro Luthier of classical stringed instruments, finished the patch restoration myself, and refinished the other hoop myself..Some of you have seen the before and after pics of the repair and were impressed.. Newly installed high end Yamaha spurs, as the originals were broken.. Other than those issues, the kit is in near excellent condition, and is 100% original, except for the spurs of course.. ;)

Sizes are-- 22x14-16x16-13x9-12x8. Original hardware included, but no pedal. Pre-YESS mounting, but i believe they're compatible with the YESS hole spacing, if you choose to switch..

Follow the links to see my exact kit from the original Yamaha catalog, and from Memphis Drum Shop.com to give you an idea of the value of these drums.. This is my first time selling on VDF, so any and all help in sale transaction, shipping methods, etc, would be appreciated !

BEST OFFER PLUS SHIPPING TAKES IT ! Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions !

From Mo Tonkie

Classy looking kit. Good luck with it.

Thanks Mo Tonkie ! I already had a gentleman come check out the drums.

He was impressed and found them to be warmer than his old kit, which was a

pre Recording Custom -9000 series kit, with smaller sizes.

He's going to think about it. I told him that if he still had the kit,

i'd do a trade with him, but he sold it a few years back..

He knows the value of this kit, so hopefully he won't low ball me ..

cheers,

Rob

Hey J!M !.. Had a feeling you'd like them ! :D

When i checked the hole spacing for the YESS mount, i had a feeling

they'd fit. Found a pic on the internet that helped me determine that..

Hopefully these will go to a good home, if not, i'll just keep them and store

them until i can use them for other projects and gigs..

cheers,

Rob

Well it sounds like you've got a worthy buyer. I hope he comes through for you.

You can also use the short arms on the drums as-is as long as they are close enough to the "ball". And conversely, YESS drums can be put on the standard long arms if you need them further from the "ball". I have a bunch of short and long arms (and a concert snare stand which uses the same "hex" as the Tom mounts but is only ~2"long) so when I used to have time I'd play around with this stuff.
