From Drumdreams

You got me there. That certainly was a better deal than the ones I'm going to look at.

Sorry Drumdreams. I wasn't trying to get you.... I simply tried to help you by showing a similar kit at a better price, hoping that you could get your new drums for a fair price. -It seems you managed :) 300$ seems to be a good deal. The drums you picked up look really nice, however, 400$ would have been a little too much. Good luck with those drums, keep us posted!

I reckon it was fair at $400 so it was a great deal. This kit is similar and made $750 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=330715966846&nma=true&rt=nc&si=A3eLn8L2nVdj8lBz1HyAn2QKRNU%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Non original BD hoops and tom mount too.

Oh yeah... I like red! Nice find! I'd go with the black hoops, personally.

Personally, I like that finish better than mine. Wow, 750. Well, my intention is not to re-sell, but it's nice to know that I didn't over pay. Still haven't decided about the hoops yet.Hmmmm

Wow, looking at my original post, I realize just how long it has been. Anyway, here is an updated picture. Still have lots to do. I have sanded and painted the non matching bass drum hoop, and I am going to see if a local sign shop can print a copy of the wrap, and use it as an inlay. I really like the contrast of the black hoops and white head. I will probably put it on the batter side though, just have to re finish the hoop with matching inlay. 16 inch hoops are on order. Right now I have them set up as 20, 13, 16. The 12 tom is on a shelf and hasn't been touched yet. Soooo.......

Looking good. I'll be interested in how you get on with the printing of the inlays. I've always though that would be a good idea but haven't tried it yet.

Since you started this thread i ended up finding a similar kit (but with 2x 12" toms). I have restored it and I love it. It's now my main working kit. I went with wood hoops on the BD but with no inlay channel
