Greg - Now I can finish the 13"! The next one is the smallest, but one of the coolest drums, an 11" tacked tom. Man, I'm just happy I don't have to re-skin/tack the 11". The original head on that one just needs a good clean up, but it's the only one of the original tacked heads that survived. The 'problem' with the 11" is the metal batter hoop. It's badly rusted/corroded. I'll do my best with it, but it's going to take a bit of luck to save that hoop. More on that one later, I'm only half way through the 13".

Hang in there, we're rounding third and heading for home...

John

I'm tacking the 13" and the hardware is done. I'll finish the tacking and start the hoop today. Photos to follow shortly as soon as it's all done. I can't tell you how happy I am to be able to complete the 13". Just a few days ago I was looking at a handful of broken metal parts with no hope of finding replacements. The Drum-Gods are watching over me and conspiring to make this restoration a success. With the Universe working on my side, how could I not succeed? :D

Back to work... it ain't gonna happen just talking about it.

I'll allow the photos to do the talking...

Thank you for all the helpful suggestions that led to practical solutions! Team effort always pays off.

It came out really nice. You have to see it in-person to appreciate it fully.

On to the last drum... the 11" tom!

That one sure turned out nice as well. Great job John. Youre getting close. Tell Bev to get her dancing feet ready!
