I'm considering purchasing a set of 5 vintage temple blocks in their original red, gold & black paint scheme. I believe that they're Leedy's, although there are no markings on any of them. They're in their original state, with no attempts made to "recondition" them nor touch up the paint in any way. They're in fairly rough shape cosmetically, although functionally they're fine.
I'm considering adding these to my 1940s Leedy "project."
Here's the questions I'm hoping you can help me with:
1. Should I consider any paint restoration on these?
2. Would painting over the worn areas negatively affect the sound of the respective block in any way?
3. Any idea of the value of a set like this?
THANKS in advance for your time and input!
