VINTAGE STAR DRUM FINISHES (silky red blue white)

To my reckoning i would say that the SILKY RED wrap....(HOLY GRAIL OF WRAPS)... is probably the most rarest of wraps throughout the A - Z of drum brands. Here in the UK the premier shimmers are all over ebay even Tama imperial star have a silky white, which is popular with star drums also the silky blue is popular. Never a red shimmer / silky red etc etc....Here is my SILKY RED ROYAL STAR KIT (not snare drum) lets see yours or even another brand. Can this finish still be found or bought jammin sam etc etc etc....sean
I don't know what my wrap is called, and it's far from perfect, but here it is. In the process of gathering parts for my restore. Love your wrap!
(btw - Sean I think you'd get more eyes on this topic if it were in the Vintage Non-American part of the forum).

Hi Doug i agree i would have been better putting the post there. Im sure your wrap is one of the satins, im sure Ralf could tell you. A nice bunch of drums you have there, be nice when they are finished.
Thanks Sean. The snare is a no-go as it has alot of water damage and is warped and bent. I'll take the hardware off and maybe make a snare someday with a new shell.
The rest of the kit is in fine shape, with the exception of the missing parts and will be a keeper when I'm done. Finding the time and money is the trick. Have to sell a guitar for new head money! :)

Good luck with the rebuild....
I still reckon the silky red is very hard to find not only on star kits but right through the drum world. I suppose i could say prove me wrong........sean
Sean - How did it go? Did you sell?
I'm still gathering bits and pieces for mine. Alot of fun!
