vintage Sonor kit + Premier snare

Loading...

this is what i've got, and what i have no idea wood or year it is. purchased in 1970, but i believe it may be from 1965 and the snare from 1961...

Sonor kit:

22x16 kick

14X14 rack

13X8 rack

16X16 floor tom

3 ply, ruby laquer finish, no serial#, only Sonor made in Western Germany badge which was used early-mid 60s

-photo file too large so can't post entire kit but the finish should reveal some details

Premier 6.5x14 snare:

perhaps all chrome, 1966, model 2000 based on this site:

http://www.vintprem.moonfruit.com/

i bought the kit along with these cymbals, all for $750 (Canadian):

all Paiste Stambul 65

22" medium ride

20" sizzle ride

15" hi hats

3rd photo is the sizzle...

any ideas, much appreciated!

Hi

Nice kit :)

It is surely (regarding your tom tom) a Teardrop set by Sonor.

If there are 3 plys + reinforcement rings, it is an early sixties kit because the middle and late 60s are 6 plys without rings.

That must sound very good !!!

I own a 68 one and I love it !!!

Don't sell this kit... The design of the Teardrop lugs is surely one of the best lugs design ever...

See ya,

The Premier snare is late 60's to early 70's. 1966/67 is when they changed the badge (all black with "P" centered).
