Vintage slingerland Snare Identification Needed

Loading...

Sorry to bring this up from the dead, but I have some questions about a similar Slingerland snare of mine. I won it on ebay, it was described as a Radio King, but I couldn't find anything similar to it until I recently came across a pic of a Concert King. I don't know which it could be, as nothing matches the dimensions in the catalogs.

The drum is 14x7

16 Concert King type lugs

seems to be a solid shell (with re-rings) ... I cannot see any plies

badge is large oval - '48-50

non-Slingerland strainer and hoops, the shell has been painted in and out. I can see patched strainer holes, but no evidence of different lug holes (if I'm not mistaken, a similar RK had single, centered lugs).

Thanks for your help.

If you can post a pic, that would help. Is the interior maple? Because, if so, it may be quite a find. But, if it's mahogany, then it's a 3-ply.

Here's a pic ... I don't know that it'll do much good ... like I said the interior's been painted, so I wouldn't know how to tell if it's maple. It does look like a single piece shell, from looking down on the bearing edges and after removing a lug - I can't see any evidence of plys.

What would be a better part to photograph? I'm pretty sure the badge was re-attached - I'll get a pic of that up tomorrow (it's late).

Thanks for your help.
