Vintage Slingerland Info needed

Loading...

I have a old set of Slingerland Drums w/ the serial number 249738.

The only thing i have found is that they could of been made around 10th or 11th month in 1965. I am wondering if anyone can provide any more info about this particular set?

The serial numbers on Slingerland drums are not like a V.I.N. number on a car that can tell you everything about it. You need to post sizes, and pictures for anybody to be able to tell you much of anything about those drums.

Cool the badge is black n silver.They have a natural finish,but are not in great shape.I was thinking about restoring them.but wasn't sure of thier value at present.Alot of the tension rods have rust,the snare drum is pretty rusted too.

I went to post pictures of then yesterday but my friggin batteries are dead.I'll get some today and provide pics.

I traded a old barley working xbox for them a long time ago.I have a set of pearls i play for now.I cant find a serial on them either to tell if they are a good set or a cheap set.I'll take measurements for both sets w/ pics here in a lil bit post both.

To be clear, the serial numbers on drums aren't what the guys will be looking at to identify your kit(s). They will want to see the lugs, the tom mounts, the spurs, the leg mounts and interior shots. Plus a shot of the bearing edge, the wrap, any badges, etc. As far as the snare goes, the number of lugs and the throw off will be what they want to see.

hope this helps,

toodles

ok well after looking at them again, the middle post that has the tom mounts from bass drum has been replaced by a ludwig setup :(

all the serials on the badges are not the same number but i dont know if thats normal.

here are the measurements:

Bass = 14"Depth x 19.5" Diameter

Hi-Tom = 8x12

Mid-Tom = 9x13

Floor Tom = 14x14

Snare = 5x14
